About Us
In Germany, Chambers of Commerce and Industry are public corporations with compulsory membership. The Nuremberg CCI is one of 80 German Chambers of Industry and Commerce. Its head organisation is the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Deutsche Industrie- und Handelskammertag / DIHK) in Berlin. The Chamber closely cooperates with the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (Auslandshandelskammern / AHK) as well as with representatives of German commerce in more than 70 countries.
The 80 German Chambers of Industry and Commerce represent the interests of 3.6 million member companies from commerce, industry and the service sector to public authorities in their region and offer extensive services to them. By means of publications and numerous events as well as individual advice, the member companies receive important direction for their business activities abroad. This includes particular information about the market in more than 120 countries, questions on market-access, the mediation of international business contacts, import and export regulations, information about customs duties and assistance in setting up business and joint ventures abroad. In addition, the CCI-member companies and individuals receive certificates of origin and other written documents indispensable for the transport of goods in foreign countries from their local Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
