Frequently Asked Questions

How are membership fees decided on?

The General Assembly decide on the amount of membership fees. The membership fee consists of a basic contribution and an assessment-based contribution. The basic contribution, staggered according to the financial situation of the company, must be paid by all members, with exception of very small businesses and new entrepreneurs. The assessment-based contribution varies according to the company's income.

The economic strength of the 80 IHK districts in Germany varies, the statutory tasks, however, must be fulfilled everywhere. This leads to regional differences in membership fees. The lowest basic contribution for small businesses lies at the moment between 30 and 75 Euros per year. The basic contributions for companies registered in the Companies Register start from between 120 and 300 Euro per year, depending on the region.
